Fox released a promo advertising the return of their hit show Gotham yesterday, with the focus being on new character Mr. Freeze. While the promo itself is fairly decent and interesting, what I noticed almost immediately were the few Easter eggs tossed in for sharp eyed fans. Check out the promo below, and then read through my description to see if you caught them all.

  1. In the very beginning of the video, you can see a trashcan burning in an alleyway quickly being snuffed out by the oncoming cold. Just before the fire goes out, look in it closely. Is that an image of Firefly I see in the flickering flames? Why yes, it is!
  2. Funny enough, the next hidden surprise is for the one character we were all convinced had actually shown up by now, but actually hasn’t yet. The Joker’s famous smiley face appears as wall art right underneath the words “The Freeze” (at timestamp 0:05). Could another Jerome-like version of the character be arriving in Gotham City in the near future?
  3. Finally, we get a nice sweeping shot of the city freezing over. In the middle of said shot, around timestamp 0:10, you’ll notice a familiar looking pair of goggles on the side of the building closest to the camera. The goggles happen to belong to Mr. Freeze himself, who seems content to be part of the building and just watch his work mess up the city.

Awesome right? Did you notice all three Easter eggs right off the bat? Let me know in the comments below or with a tweet through that widget on the left.
