After having been the subject of extensive rumors, it seems Krang’s rumors were finally put to rest by  Michael Bay and Rolling Stone.

In an article published yesterday, rollingstone.com noted that Bay was meeting with Industrial Light and Magic to discuss certain CGI characters in the upcoming film Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows. Aside from the expected Beebop and Rocksteady discussion, the article also points out that Bay was asked about the look of Krang, a villain who the article imaginatively compares to “a disembodied brain inside a giant robot”.

“So we’ve eliminated the tentacles,” [visual-effects supervisor Pablo Helman] explains. “Is it too monster-ish?”

“He could have some tentacles,” says Bay. “I just don’t want them coming out of the side. He looks like a stupid octopus.”

While it’s cool that Krang is finally going to appear in live action, I am a bit concerned that Bay described Krang’s look to that of “a stupid octopus.” Oh well. At least he’s not in the director’s chair this time.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows will arrive in theaters June 3, 2016.
