Legendary voice actor Mark Hamill recently took to Twitter to reveal the first ever official image from DC and Warner Bros. upcoming animated film Batman: The Killing Joke! Check out the image via the first in a series of three tweets below!

What’s more, Comic Book Resources confirmed shortly afterwards that both Hamill and Kevin Conroy will return to their iconic roles as the Joker and Batman, respectively. The vocal talent for the film will also feature Tara Strong as Barbara Gordon/Batgirl, and Ray Wise as Commissioner James Gordon.

Originally written by Alan Moore and illustrated by Brian Bolland in 1988, Batman: The Killing Joke has long been considered one of the most influential (and controversial) stories to feature Batman’s arch-nemesis, thanks in no small part to its depictions of the Joker’s backstory and the vicious attack on Barbara Gordon.

Batman: The Killing Joke will arrive on DVD and Blu-Ray sometime this summer, although fans will be able to watch the film earlier at this year’s Comic Con International in San Diego.
