New ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ Details Revealed

WARNING: Minor spoilers below.

With the release of Marvel’s final Thor film fast approaching, a new article in the latest issue of Total Film may reveal a few interesting spoiler level details, while also raising some big questions about the future of certain Thor related characters. Check out scans of the new article, posted on Twitter by user @TomTheNextLevel:

While we get further confirmation that Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange will appear as a helping hand to Thor in his search for an amnesia stricken Odin (originally revealed via the first end credits scene in Doctor Strange, as well as through leaked set photos), what’s really interesting about this article is the mention of the planet Sakaar.

First seen in the pages of Incredible Hulk #92, during the events of the Planet Hulk storyline (which this film is said to take elements from), Sakaar is where the Hulk accidentally landed following his expulsion from Earth by characters like Iron Man, Mr. Fantastic, and Charles Xavier. According to Total Film‘s article, it appears as if Hulk will have already been on Sakaar for some time, and will already have been a major player in the gladiatorial games. This was previously hinted at by Taika Watiti’s Facebook live video announcement that Miek (a major Planet/World War Hulk character) would also appear in this film.

Finally, will this be Tom Hiddleston’s final appearance in the MCU? Total Film mentions that this may be the final appearance of Loki, which would be fitting given that the character disappears (along with every other Asgardian) following the comic book’s version of the Ragnarok storyline. It remains to be seen if this will be the case.

Thor: Ragnarok will arrive in theaters on November 3, 2017.
