‘Power Rangers’ Toy Commercial Reveals Goldar’s New Look

Posted: December 19, 2016 in Comic Book News

A brand new commercial for Powers Rangers toys has recently emerged online, after being uploaded to the Neo-Saban Power Rangers YouTube channel, that features our first look at the upcoming film’s take on the villain Goldar. While the look certainly is a departure from the original look of the 1990s television show, it does explain (slightly) the leaked plot elements concerning Rita needing to find golden fragments in order to bring Goldar back to life. Check out the commercial via the video below.

Its also been revealed (via IGN) that BOOM! Studios, the current publishers of the ongoing Mighty Morphin Power Rangers comic books, will be releasing a follow-up graphic novel titled Power Rangers: Aftershock, the week after the film is released to theaters. While it has been confirmed that the story will take place immediately after the events of the film, no other details have been announced at this time. IGN also revealed two new covers for the graphic novel, both of which you can check out below. According to the article, the first cover “can be pre-ordered and purchased wherever books are sold,” while the illustrated cover “can only be pre-ordered and purchased through comic book shops.”
