As you know, this website was taken over for a month by Wade Wilson (the “Merc with a Mouth”) himself, who covered random bits of comic book news/facts in his own…peculiar way, leading up to the release of the Deadpool film. Despite having only been gone for roughly a day, Wade is already apparently not fond of the fact that I only recently got around to seeing Deadpool, and decided to write me (and all of my readers, aka you) the following letter:

Dear Comic Book Nerd,

What the absolute f*#k is your problem? I finally get a decent movie appearance after one of the worst attempts at comic book fandom to date, and you can’t even be bothered to review it yet? Don’t you run a website for this sort of thing? I’m guessing there weren’t enough cheap costumes or terrible green CGI to keep you interested? Or maybe you need a solid kick in the nuts to get the ball rolling on these types of things? In that case, consider this letter a freshly spit shined, steel toed, athletic kick in the aforementioned junk.

After all, everyone needs to know how awesome I finally am! The action? On point! Where else are you going to see heads exploding, @!$holes getting shot, and regular slicing and dicing happening with my trusty swords, Bea and Arthur? The acting? Even better! Everyone in this movie was so natural and fresh, like they just stepped out of one of those fields on the laundry detergent bottles. Plus, we finally get a decent Ryan Reynolds performance, so what does that tell you? Seriously though, I loved Reynolds in this movie. He’s the only person who can do me justice. Plus he’s totally naked in this movie. You’re welcome, any ladies who happen to be on this site at the moment (because c’mon, we all know you can’t resist putting this on your website).

That’s not even getting to the best part: the references. Because it’s all about the reference love, and ol’ Deadpool has a lot to go around. We brought in Stan Lee, Rob Liefeld (look for the guy who loves pouches and drawing man boobs, can’t miss him), James McAvoy, and Daredevil, and that’s just in the first few minutes! There’s so much going on, we actually cut out a ton of jokes! Think they’ll be on the DVD? Think again you cheap f*#kers, because I’m saving that goodness for the Blu-Ray (out whenever I decide to release it, because I said so).

Plus, you’ve already seen the movie, so you know there’s nothing bad about it. Everything’s a 10/10! “But wah,” I can hear some of your readers saying, “there’s too much of the bridge scene in the marketing! The whole movie must just be that scene from the first Fantastic Four on loop!” First off, f*#k you for making me think about Fox’s disaster franchise again, because that whole thing is an awful mess. Second, there’s actually other stuff going on besides one really bad-@!$ fight scene. Didn’t you read what I wrote up top?

All in all, go see my movie again. It’s awesome, the actors/sets/special effects are awesome, and I need more money for Deadpool 2. Plus, I know where you live. Don’t make me come a knockin’.

With love,

-Deadpool

Fine Wade, we get it. The movie was good, and we should all see it at least once. Happy now?

Paramount just announced release dates for Transformers 5, 6, and 7!

Really?!

No!

Loud noises!

Let’s look at the positives at least. They could make this a much better trilogy by getting into all the Unicron stuff.

How?

Let’s find out!

Transformers 5

Remember how the last movie ended with Optimus Prime going into space with that Seed thing?

Well, what if he got caught looking for his creator, and the Autobots sent someone after him?

Like who?

Nightbeat maybe?

Putting a different spin on the Transformers and making it a smaller scale action/mystery movie, instead of the dumb “everything explodes” thing Michael Bay does in every single movie he’s ever done, could bring in viewers turned off by the other Transformers movies.

What would he do?

Search for Optimus! He’d have been hired by the Autobots on Earth to go looking for Prime because he’s one of the best detectives in the universe.

Like Batman?

Exactly. All his clues end up leading him all across the universe to different destroyed planets (he can meet different Autobots we haven’t seen yet too, like Hot Rod, Springer, and Ultra Magnus) before he finds the mostly empty Quintessa. After landing there, he gets captured by Sharkticons and locked up with Optimus and another Transformer.

The other prisoner would have to reveal that his planet was one of the ones destroyed by something called Unicron, a planet eater attracted to Energon and Transformers. Then he’d say something about how the things living on Quintessa, the Quintessons, aren’t the real creators of the Transformers, like Optimus thought.

But then he’s killed by the Sharkticons!

In a weird kangaroo court, yeah. Optimus and Nightbeat almost go through the same thing, but they manage to fight their way out.

But on the way off planet, while they’re getting chased by the Quintessons, Optimus is running low on energy. He ends up having to use a planet he finds in that age old “gravity slingshot” thing space movies use a lot to escape. On the way back to Earth, Optimus and Nightbeat talk about Unicron, and how they need to warn the Autobots, in case it ever comes to Earth.

And the after-credits scene has to be about the planet Optimus used as a slingshot suddenly lighting up and drifting in the direction Optimus and Nightbeat were headed.

That sounds awesome!

Transformers 5 will arrive in theaters June 23, 2017.

You know our movie is awesome when Betty White is telling people to go see it.

She did?

Yeah, on Twitter! She just put up a video telling people to go see it. She’s awesome!

Deadpool will arrive in theaters on February 12, 2016.

More Batman themed goodies?

I’m not complaining!

Me either! Hey readers, DC (through USA Today) released a bunch of new pictures of their six inch Batman: The Animated Series action figure toy line, which has expanded with figures based on The New Batman Adventures and Batman Beyond!

Check them out in the slideshow below!

The vice president of creative services at DC, Kevin Kiniry, said this about the new action figures:

Our popular Batman: The Animated Series line continues to strike a nostalgic chord with fans and it’s really exciting to see the positive reception.

Seriously, that was awesome!

Why does this one have to be the last trailer? They could easily go ahead with one or two more, and no one would complain.

We have to break this thing apart and pick out all the cool facts now, right?

Absolutely!

Before Warner Bros. takes it down!

I really like how we get more of a look at what Batman does in costume. Clearly, the marketing for this movie hasn’t hyped him up enough yet, but I’m actually glad most of it focused on him this time around.

I loved how he just came up out of the floor and beat those guys up!

The fighting definitely looks a lot more brutal this time around, that’s for sure. Then it turns into a bunch of footage we’ve already seen before, with Superman flying and fighting Zod-

-Batman as Bruce Wayne scowling at the sky-

-And Superman getting hit by the Batmobile!

To be fair though, that last one is extended a little. The Batmobile crashes out of a brick wall before crashing into Superman.

Batman’s reaction seemed like it was either on accident, or like Superman was waiting for him. Given that the clip with Superman warning him to quit looks like it’s part of this shot, I’d say Batman was ambushed.

Then we jump back into footage we’ve already seen! Nothing new to add, except a couple extra shots of Superman fighting Batman in the rain, Clark loosening his tie, and Bruce Wayne getting into the black car we saw at the museum scene in the second trailer!

The next shot though…

Clark and Lois seem like they’ve been getting along rather well since the last movie.

Then Batman flings a Batarang into a guy’s hand at 1:25!

Looks like the fight scene from the beginning of the trailer.

The next shot, firing that gun at Superman while he’s in that Bat armor, is probably the grenade gun they showed a while ago.

Then it’s back to mostly shots we’ve already seen! Just a few extra bits of Batman and Superman fighting each other!

But then we fade in to Bruce Wayne talking with Wonder Woman!

It’s really flirty!

She can really jump in that next shot too, huh?

Then it’s back to Lois struggling in water at 1:43 before cutting to more of that Batman fight scene from the beginning of the trailer.

Then it’s back to mostly shots we’ve already seen!

They did put that shot of Darkseid’s Omega symbol from the promo pictures in the trailer though.

And that last shot, with Batman catching a hit from Superman. So awesome!

So, turns out there’s not a whole lot of new footage in this trailer. But what is there is really awesome!

You said it!

Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice will arrive in theaters on March 25, 2016.
